GIM-CCSS Public Updates
The Partnership for the Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC), the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (Smarter Balanced) and the State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA) – working in partnership with the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) – have launched a collaborative, state-centric project (“Granular Identifiers and Metadata for the Common Core State Standards” or GIM-CCSS) to facilitate the long-term technical implementation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in a digital format that meets the diversity of stakeholder needs in the field, while preserving the conceptual and structural integrity of the standards.
The purpose of this group is to offer information on the status of the project and - at the appropriate times - to offer the opportunities for comment and review on the project's proposed approach and draft deliverables.
Some places to start:
- Review GIM-CCSS Project and Related Resources (organized wiki page with direct links to the public group's resource library)
- Familarize yourself with the GIM-CCSS Public Project Milestones and Timeline
- Participate in a review of the project's approach to the specification of granularity or attend a GIM-CCSS project or partner outreach session
- Introduce yourself and/or post a general question or comment related to the project at the GIM-CCSS Public Water Cooler forum
- Respond to FIRST draft document posted for stakeholder review: FOR PUBLIC REVIEW: GIM-CCSS: Scope, Technical Requirements, Approaches, and Recommendations (Feb 6, 2013 v 0.8 by Dan Rehak)
